Lake District Audi has began work to develop the former Lindale Inn, which has been closed for some time.
We have been granted planning permission to convert the pub into a vehicle handover centre with a car forecourt, additional parking and outdoor seating area.
As well as bringing the disused building back into use, the development will create an outside seating area both for people who work at the dealership and locals, and will also reinstate the original pavement, making it safer for pedestrians, and provide a clearer view of the mini roundabout in front of the site.
Following a number of meetings with Lindale Parish Council, we have had a variety of designs put forward, which we think make the public site something we can integrate into the operation to both sell more cars, and to create more customer space.
Our hopes are that these plans will help draw more people to the village, create work for local contractors and increase long-term employment in the future.
Improving and reinventing our retail spaces is a vital ingredient in our success and if we are to be a viable business in the future, our customers must be able to enjoy an improved, expanded and interesting retail experience.
